Ingredients
  

Brownie Layer

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

Cookie Layer

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Mix melted butter and sugar for the brownie layer. Add eggs and vanilla extract, then mix in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  • In another bowl, cream softened butter with sugars for the cookie layer. Add egg and vanilla, then mix in flour, baking soda, salt, and chocolate chips.
  • Spread brownie batter in the pan. Top with spoonfuls of cookie dough and gently spread into an even layer.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes. Let cool completely for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes
